As a Manufacturing Engineer - EGSE, you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures to build, test and launch satellites, related subsystems, EGSE and components. You will be the manufacturing liaison for engineering and be responsible for reviewing test system drawings, harnesses, and working with engineering to optimize manufacturing. This role requires the ability to work second shift.
This position’s internal job code is Manufacturing Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 2.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for manufacturing racks and harnesses
- Author process plans, assembly procedures, standard operating procedures, and rework instructions for all manufacturing items within your jurisdiction
- Work alongside production scheduling, material planning, and various engineering teams to bring a product from the design phase to program delivery
- Identify improvement opportunities and execute initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc.
- Troubleshoot, identify root cause, and drive implementation of corrective actions for non-conformances
- Conduct DFM reviews for harnessing and ground support equipment and provide valuable feedback to the design team
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to verify that both new and current processes meet compliance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 1 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience authoring procedures, processes, and managing non-conformances
- Proven track record leading initiatives
- Familiar with IPC-WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and IPC J-STD-001
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- 2 years of experience in test system manufacturing and design (electrical & mechanical)
- Experience in a high-throughput manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with PXI architecture
- Knowledge of test instrumentation (i.e. thermocouples, accelerometers, DAQs, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements
- Must have technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis complete with sound engineering based corrective actions
- Level 2: $80,750-$118,750
