CNC Machinist - 4 Axis Haas Mill (Mastercam Required)

Millennium Power Services is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Westfield, MA. This role is specifically focused on programming, setting up, and operating a 4-axis Haas mill using Mastercam software.We are looking for a self-sufficient machinist who can take a job from print to finished part with minimal supervision while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards.Responsibilities:4-Axis Haas Mill Setup & OperationIndependently set up and operate 4-axis Haas CNC milling machines.Perform complete machine setups including fixturing, tooling selection, offsets, and prove-outs.Run first articles and make program adjustments as needed.Mastercam ProgrammingCreate, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam.Develop efficient toolpaths for 4-axis machining operations.Troubleshoot and refine programs to improve cycle times and part quality.Post-process programs specifically for Haas controls.Blueprint InterpretationRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.Understand tolerances and machining requirements to produce precision components.Quality ControlInspect first-piece and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, etc.).Ensure parts meet all dimensional and quality specifications.Tooling & Process OptimizationSelect appropriate tooling, inserts, holders, and fixtures.Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce scrap.Maintain proper cutting parameters for various materials.Troubleshooting & MaintenanceIdentify and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.Perform routine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized workspace.Adhere to all safety procedures and company standards.Qualifications:5 years of CNC machining experience requiredStrong experience programming in Mastercam (required)Proven experience setting up and operating 4-axis Haas mills (required)Ability to independently perform full setups and prove-outsProficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&TExperience working to tight tolerancesStrong understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and workholdingProficient with precision measuring instrumentsStrong math and geometry skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferredPreferred ExperienceExperience machining stainless steel, alloy steel, and specialty materialsExperience optimizing cycle times and improving machining efficiencyFamiliarity with Haas controls and post-processorsPosition Details:Regular hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.Overtime and weekend hours available and required as needed.Benefits:Weekend and overtime hours paid at elevated rates.Health, medical, and dental benefits.Short- and long-term disability plans.Life insurance policy and 401(k) plan.Paid time off and paid holidays.Clean and safe work environment.Join Millennium Power Services and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in machining and manufacturing.Millennium Power Services promotes a safe and drug-free work environment. Salary : $28 - $38
