We are seeking a Technical Content Strategist with a strong technical background and expertise in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for complex technical and financial systems. Reporting to the Head of Technical Knowledge Management, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between our technology teams and end users, including Portfolio Managers (PMs) and other stakeholders.
You will collaborate with data scientists, quantitative developers, cloud engineers, and other technologists to produce high-quality, client-facing technical documentation. Your work will help users understand how to use our tools, leverage our latest features, and access support effectively
Principal Responsibilities
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled individual who can:
Develop and maintain technical documentation for internal and external audiences, including user guides, API documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with engineers and developers to gather technical information and translate it into clear, concise, and actionable content.
Organize and optimize content using taxonomy and hierarchy principles to ensure users can easily find the information they need.
Utilize Atlassian Confluence as the primary documentation platform, including advanced features like macros, plug-ins, and custom templates.
Work with version control systems (e.g., Git/GitHub) to manage and track documentation updates.
Incorporate UX writing principles to ensure content is intuitive and user-friendly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications/Experience
2 years of experience in technical writing, content strategy, or a related field, ideally within financial services or a technology-driven environment.
Strong technical skills, being able to test code (e.g., Python), knowledge of markup languages (MD, HTML), business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau), and project management tools (e.g., Jira). Experience with Linux a plus.
Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence, including advanced features such as macros, plug-ins, and permissions management. Experience with Atlassian Cloud a plus.
Experience with version control systems like GitHub for managing documentation workflows.
Basic programming knowledge to understand and document APIs, code snippets, and technical workflows.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their applications in financial services.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate content.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $175,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
