Concrete Construction Project Estimator
Job Summary:
Millennium Concrete is looking to add a member to our estimating team. Millennium Concrete is a commercial concrete contractor based out of Coralville, IA. We do concrete foundations, floors, and paving for distribution warehouses, cold storage facilities, and other industrial projects across the country. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing written proposals for projects we are bidding. Job does not involve travel.
Duties:
- Prepare quantity take-offs using blueprints and digital software.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required materials.
- Call for material quotes for jobs we are bidding.
- Prepare written proposals for projects we are bidding.
- Generate and submit RFI’s and product submittals to general contractors.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project estimations.
Experience:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Prior experience/knowledge in construction/concrete is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using take-off software such as Planswift is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, is self-motivated and can effectively multi-task.
