Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team with enthusiasm and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing all cleaning operations across our short term rentals, ensuring every space reflects the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction. As the leader of our housekeeping department, you will be cleaning and also inspiring your team to deliver exceptional service while maintaining a welcoming and pristine environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the housekeeping team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality cleaning services throughout our 8 short term rentals.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules for other housekeepers, protocols, and standards.
- Oversee daily cleaning operations including rental cabins, public areas, storage facilities, and any other cleaning/maintenance of our properties.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor cleanliness, safety compliance, and maintenance needs.
- Train staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures to promote efficiency and professionalism.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens while managing budget adherence for supplies procurement
- You will need to learn how to maintain hot tubs and balance them between guests.
Requirements
- Proven experience in housekeeping.
- Extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care methods, and best practices for keeping a 5 star space.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a proven cleaning system.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inspections and quality control
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and collaborate with other managers and owners.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience with short term rentals is a plus!
Schedule and Pay
- The head housekeeper is expected to work when the short term rental guests check out. The days worked will change weekly, as it depends when we have turnover.
- Your day will start at 10:45, and usually done by 4:00.
- NO EARLY MORNINGS AND NO NIGHTS!
- You will be required to work Sundays (this is our busiest day of the week)
- We are willing to hire you on full time or part time.
- Pay for this head housekeeping role starts at $19, and depends on experience.
- There is potential for bonuses for the right candidate, and potential to take on more (like doing the messaging with guests, etc.)
