Trading Systems Developer
This is an on-site role in Charlotte, NC.

Role
We're looking for a self-starter interested in working in a fast-paced environment with creative autonomy and few meetings. We value an office where people like to work and like each other.
In this role, you will work with a team of developers, enhancing our current trading technology, supporting our production environments, and building additional functionality to support the firm’s business needs. Our developers are involved through the entire project process, spending time with trades and quantitative analysts generating ideas, discussing their designs with other developers, building, testing and releasing their software into production, including supporting their projects once they are live.
Key Responsibilities
- Involvement throughout the entire project process, spending time with tech and quantitative analysts generating ideas, discussing their designs with other developers, building, testing, and releasing their software into production, as well as supporting projects in production once they are live.
- Work on a variety of real-time systems, including market data distribution, security master, position management, etc.
- Be driven to optimize software for reliability, throughput, and supportability
- Provide support for the production trading environments, on a rotational basis with the rest of the team
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or similar discipline
- Proven experience in developing distributed systems in the financial services industry
- Deep understanding of Java and capable of working in another language (Python, C , JavaScript/React)
- Working knowledge of SQL and managing large datasets
- Extensive experience with JMS, gRPC, or other messaging framework
- Takes initiative under pressure and drives issues to resolution across the ecosystem
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with Linux and Docker
- Expertise in distributed caching frameworks (e.g. Hazelcast/Redis)
- Background in DevOps, Jenkins, Maven, Airflow, etc.
- Understanding of risk metrics and fixed income bond math (Option-Adjusted Spread (OAS), Duration (DV01), QuantLib)
- Knowledge of trade processing and settlement
