Role
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a keen interest in financial markets and technology to join our sales team. This role will work alongside our experienced team of trading, technology, and operations professionals, to design, develop and implement our product marketing strategy in support of the firm’s business development needs. The candidate will play a pivotal role in the sales-trading process and will be expected to sell securities and develop key client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with existing client-base by proactively offering bonds that fit their needs or past inquiry behavior
- Facilitate daily trade negotiations and bookings inbound from our client base
- Develop comfort and fluency around the full suite of fixed income products we execute with our counterparties
- Coverage of specific clients over time
- Maintain firmwide pricing entitlements over various e-trading platforms
- CRM analysis and monitoring of our platform permissioning
- Contribute to the CRM and business development strategy of the team, including liaising with other internal stakeholders; including senior management
- Deepen and optimize existing buy side relationships and identify potential new counterparties, cross selling where opportunities exist for new asset class coverage, regular dialogue and in-person visits as necessary
- Develop and maintain close relationships with key trading platforms
- Partner with team of developers to enhance our proprietary CRM processes and tools
- Create activity reports and sales updates/trends to be presented to management on a quarterly basis
Training will be provided and some travel will be required in support of these objectives. This is a long-term role with the potential to develop a wide-ranging expertise in the fixed income securities business.
Qualifications
Candidates must have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, a sound business sense and an entrepreneurial verve. Over time candidates will be expected to contribute in multiple functional areas, so willingness to work flexibly within a small team environment is a must.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in a financial sales related role
- Prior experience with Fixed Income, Credit Markets and Electronic Trading
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensed
