What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Crew Chief position at Millennia Professional Services?
Millennia Professional Services, a full-service civil engineering, land surveying and geotechnical firm with offices in Morton, Fairview Heights, and Downers Grove, IL and St. Louis, MO, is seeking candidates to fill the position of Survey Crew Chief at our Morton, Illinois location.
Millennia is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for this position.
For consideration to fill this position, ideal candidates should have experience performing the following:
All aspects of boundary and topographic surveying including:
- Courthouse research for documents
- Boundary calculations
- Field reconnaissance for existing monumentation
- Setting horizontal and vertical control
Construction Layout including:
- Reading and understanding construction plans
- Perform calculations for layout on large commercial sites, residential subdivisions, highway projects and bridge projects
- Complete proper field notes and sketches
- Ensure proper maintenance of the survey vehicle and equipment
Ideal candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
- Be able to operate robotic instruments and GPS equipment, knowledge of Trimble equipment preferred
- Should be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software preferred, but not required
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Required at least 4 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief
- P.L.S. preferred but not required
- Must be physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in the same day
- Strong commitment to detail and quality
- Be willing to work overtime and work out of town occasionally
