What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at Millennia Professional Services?
Millennia Professional Services is a full-service civil engineering, land surveying, and geotechnical firm with offices in Downers Grove, Morton, and Fairview Heights, Illinois and in St. Louis, Missouri. We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Construction Inspector at our Downers Grove location.
Millennia is seeking a Construction Inspector with 0-4 years of experience. Qualified candidates will perform Construction Engineering and Construction Management on roadway and bridge projects throughout the Chicagoland area.
Millennia is offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for this position.
Position Requirements, including Software Experience:
- Perform onsite construction observation on roadway and bridge projects for the Tollway, IDOT, and municipalities.
- Perform project documentation, quantity calculations, and materials inspection to ensure conformance with the project plans and specifications.
- Prepare inspector daily reports on construction observation and testing activities
- Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, utility companies, and other staff members
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel)
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Ability to work on a site independently as directed
- Field visits on rough terrain per project needs
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive to and from job sites
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Requirements:
- IDOT Documentation Certification or ability to obtain certification in near future
- IDOT, Local Agency, and/or ISHTA construction Phase III experience
Educational Requirements:
- Associates degree in Engineering Technology, or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field
