What are the responsibilities and job description for the Door, Window and Millwork Sales Representative position at MILLARD LUMBER?
The Door, Window and Millwork Sales representative provides customer service and sales to existing and/or potential customers to enhance and promote Millard Lumber products and services.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Confer with customers by telephone, electronically, in person to provide information about our products and/or our services to meet or exceed customers’ expectations. Actively participates and develop new accounts, generate sales quotes, and handle customer inquiries to help service customers and grow sales.
- Solicit sales of new or additional services and/or products while informing and recommending Millard Lumber’s products and services. Maintains knowledge of current sales and promotions.
- Contact suppliers for availability and costs on special and non-stock products.
- Determine charges for services or product. Collect deposits or payments, or arrange billing. Process returns, exchanges, quotes, credits, contracts, purchase/work orders, stock receipts and transfers.
- Assist with special projects and participates in training sessions to expand current and new product knowledge.
- Work effectively with others in a team based environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in customer service and inside sales preferred
- Experience at operating both ERP (BisTrack) system and Microsoft office.
Other Requirements
- Possess a strong willingness to learn Millard Lumber products/services
- Retail sales experience preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment screens
- Maintenance of regular attendance, work evenings and required Saturdays

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Work is in a retail environment indoor and outdoor, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
- Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer/scan work. Must be able to safely squat/bend/climb. Will occasionally lift/ push/pull up to 75 lbs., grasp, talk, hear and stand/walk for prolonged periods. Job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist.
