What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Teacher/Van Driver position at Millard Children's Academy?

We pride ourselves on our respected position in the community, and strive to continue improving and providing exceptional care to all the families that entrust their children with our care.
We are currently looking to fill a Van Driver/Full-time Teacher on our team. The age of children with which you will work will be determined by your preference and by our needs. The starting wage for this position is $15/hr and employees qualify for paid-time-off after one year (based on number of hours worked). If you qualify to be a Van Driver, you will receive an addition $1.00/hour.
Van Drivers must be 21 years or older with a good driving record. You will be tasked with driving our daycare vans to and from a local Millard elementary school—Black Elk, Neihardt, Ackerman, or Upchurch—and may be asked to drive on field trips during the day.
Hours: Open Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-6:00 PM. No nights or weekends! The hours for this shift are 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
Paid holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. (Employees qualify for these days after 90 days of employment).
All teachers and aides will be required to:
- Assist in planning and executing lesson plans and activities that follow the theme of the week;
- Maintain a classroom environment focusing on the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child;
- Complete all required annual in-service (twelve hours for full-time; six hours for part-time), in-service costs are paid by the company;
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations, including undergoing a background check, sex offender registry check, and child/adult abuse and neglect registry check;
- Assist with light cleaning duties in the classroom, main building areas, and restrooms;
- Provide the children with the meals and snacks that have been prepared by the cook at the appropriate times;
- Additional requirements and expectations vary by room and will be discussed during the interview process.
