Millar Legal, a business litigation and family law firm based in South Jordan, UT, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our team. About the Role: This position requires an individual with exceptional written and oral advocacy, a command of litigation & mediation strategy, and the ability to manage high-stakes litigation cases from start to finish. At Millar Legal, we are more than just a law firm—we are advocates and coaches, committed to helping clients heal and move forward through some of life's toughest transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate clearly and confidently with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Prepare persuasive legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and trial briefs.
- Conduct depositions with strategic intent toward trial or resolution.
- Navigate mediation and actively guide clients through negotiations.
- Provide compelling representation at hearings and trials.
- Maintain and meet a modest billing goal (1700 billable hours/year) with high-quality clients.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience.
- Demonstrated strength in research and writing.
- Strong familiarity with the Utah Rules of Civil Procedure and evidentiary rules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and genuine desire to support client outcomes.
- Existing book of business is welcome but not required.
