We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care across our healthcare facilities. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments, including assisted living, nursing home, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to residents’ individual needs while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations such as Medicare and HIPAA.
- Supervise nurse management staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and shift management to ensure optimal staffing levels and quality of care.
- Oversee medical records management, documentation review, and accurate coding using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Ensure adherence to medical terminology standards, physiology and anatomy knowledge requirements, and proper use of medical records for documentation accuracy.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing documentation, conducting audits on medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans that promote resident safety, comfort, and dignity while managing complex cases involving MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments.
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations related to Medicare and other reimbursement programs to ensure facility compliance and optimize funding opportunities.
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies or hospice care environments.
- Proven management and supervising experience within nursing administration roles.
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
- Deep understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the intricacies of nursing practices across various care settings.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively.
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations and documentation requirements for reimbursement purposes.
- Ability to interpret complex medical information accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
