- Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for LTC facilities, hospitals, and critical care units with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Manage medication intake processes, including verifying prescriptions, entering data into pharmacy systems, and ensuring accuracy of medication orders.
- Support patient service initiatives by providing clear medication instructions, answering questions, and coordinating medication deliveries or pickups.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, inventory levels, and documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication administration and address any discrepancies or concerns promptly.
- Uphold safety standards by practicing proper medical terminology usage, infection control protocols, and medication handling procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Critical care experience is highly desirable, especially in managing complex medication regimens or infusion therapies..
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and communication.
