What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Mill Steel Company?
The ideal candidate will have knowledge in the slitting and packaging of steel coils, as well as overhead crane and forklift experience. The candidate must be available to work any shift and overtime as needed, including weekends. We are seeking hard-working individuals with good attendance and a team player attitude. Shifts available: 1st & 2nd Shift
Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Ability to operate a steel slitter, experience necessary for this specific role.
- Review and follow job order instructions for handling, labeling, and packaging material to specific requirements.
- Communicate with co-workers and management in an effective manner.
- Follow all processes and safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures, and adhering to all safety guidelines in accordance with company safety policy.
- Be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the industrial/manufacturing industry is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Basic computer skills for occasional data entry and order retrieval
- Ability to stand for more than eight hours per day
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary
- Excellent communication skills
