As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our dynamic Human Resources team, sharing responsibilities to ensure the seamless execution of our Human Resources operations. Your expertise will contribute to various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, allowing us to maintain a positive and productive work environment. You will work closely with our existing HR team to develop and implement strategies that align with our organizational goals and foster a culture of excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Develop and implement projects that drive organizational impact and improvement.
• Coordinates and attends career fairs and employment events as needed.
• Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Completes I-9 verification in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Facilitates new hire onboarding process and overall engagement of new associates to Mill Steel Company.
• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
• Preforms regular maintenance of associate profiles and manages changes in HRIS platform.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Responsible for responding to all unemployment inquiries and investigations.
• Responsible for responding to all employment verification requests from external partners.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Responsible for maintaining the integrity and completeness of employee electronic filing system.
• Facilitates employee stay and exit interviews.
• Send weekly and monthly reports to managers and directors as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
• At least 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
Travel Requirements:
• Mill Steel Company is a multi-state company, this role requires the willingness to travel as needed (approximately a couple times a year)
Organizational Relationship:
• This individual reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with a variety of departments throughout the company.
