How you'll make an impact:
MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Packer I who considers themselves problem-solvers and are excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As a Packer I in the Finishing Department, you will play a key role in ensuring finished products meet quality and packaging standards. This position is responsible for packing glued folding cartons into corrugated cases according to established specifications and production requirements.

What will you do in this role?
- Erecting and labeling corrugated cases and identifying each case with appropriate die position and pallet numbers.
- Sorting, housekeeping, flat packing responsibilities, and communicating any quality problems to QA Manager and/or Manufacturing Managers.
- Support manufacturing operations by effectively and safely feeding and/or packing cartons into corrugated cases produced on high-speed gluing machines.
- Regularly inspect cartons during the feeding or packing operations, to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Secondary functions include labeling cases, manually stacking sealed cases onto pallets, removing wastepaper from die cut pallets, housekeeping, material handling, assisting the Gluing Operator and working as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace, adhering to all safety standards and protocols.
- Actively participate in ongoing in-house quality assurance and safety training programs.
- Conform to all established safe work practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs additional duties as required by management.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1-3 years of related experience working with folding equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standard situations.
- Computer Skills – Basic computer skills are required to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedule, and communicate via email
Preferred Requirements

The physical requirements and work environment:
Physical Demands
- Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
- Lifting/Carrying: Regularly lift and move materials up to 25 lbs.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands and arms for machine operation and material handling.
- Visual/Manual Requirements: Ability to read gauges, measure materials, and perform quality checks.
Environmental Conditions
- Temperature: Work performed in a manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Noise Level: Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection provided.
- Safety Gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes required.
- Other Factors: Occasional exposure to dust, ink, or chemicals used in production.
Schedule & Work Hours
- This is a full-time, on-site position working 2nd shift (2pm – 12am) Monday through Thursday. Specific shift hours will be agreed upon at hiring, however, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours
