Job Summary:

Overall responsibility for ensuring a steady flow of all materials and related services needed to keep a manufacturing line operating on a timely and cost-efficient basis. Manages the purchasing (including vendor selection and negotiation of prices) and inventory control functions. Coordinates with Production Planner on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.   

Minimum Required Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·        High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

·        Minimum 3-5 years of experience in material planning or inventory control preferred.

·        Exceptional personal computer skills: knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, proficiency in Word and Lotus Notes.

·        Must have well developed organizational and result driven skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects.

·        Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

·        Ability to analyze large amounts of data and create statistical data analysts.

·        Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments.

·        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·        Ability to work cooperatively with others.

·        Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies.

·        Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

·        Create and maintain an inventory schedule by watching trends and customer demands to ensure there is always enough products and manufacturing materials to fulfill customer requirements on a timely and cost-efficient basis.

·        Identify and select reputable and diverse suppliers for multiple raw material categories needed for production of dairy products

·        Negotiate prices with suppliers of raw materials and hauling services to achieve maximum cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards by analyzing numerous data points, including market conditions, cost of goods, and fuel prices

·        Order packaging in proper quantities to meet customer demands and in light of storage capacity and shelf life of raw materials.

·        Monitor inventory levels to ensure raw materials are replenished on timely basis to avoid production delays

·        Make and implement changes to improve efficiency of supply chain

·        Responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials.

·        Manage relationships and coordinate deliveries of all suppliers.

·        Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

·        Work cooperatively with others

·        Comply with all company policies and procedures

• Serving as a back-up to the Production Planner in their absence or as needed.
• Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
