Production Operator (Multiple Production Roles)

Production Operators may be assigned to a variety of production areas based on business needs, including filling operations, bag-in-box production, tote filling, debagging, packaging, and production support.

What You'll Be Doing
Depending on your assigned production area, responsibilities may include:
- Operating dairy production and packaging equipment
- Filling milk and cream into bottles, bag-in-box containers, or 300-gallon lined totes
- Removing bottles from transport bags on the debagging table while preventing product damage
- Placing filled products into boxes or preparing them for palletizing and warehouse transfer
- Operating manual and electric pallet jacks to move materials and finished products
- Monitoring product weights, seals, caps, labels, and packaging quality
- Performing product and package changeovers
- Making basic equipment adjustments and troubleshooting minor operating issues
- Collecting product samples for Quality Assurance testing
- Completing production paperwork, quality checks, and required documentation
- Preparing equipment for production runs and performing cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Communicating with warehouse, cold storage, maintenance, and quality teams
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and all company safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Manufacturing or food production experience preferred
- Dairy manufacturing experience is a plus
- Previous experience operating production equipment or pallet jacks preferred
- Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting on occasion
- Ability to work in refrigerated and warm production environments
- Comfortable working around machinery, noise, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and food production equipment
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned production equipment
- Perform equipment setup, operation, monitoring, and cleaning
- Complete scheduled quality inspections and production documentation
- Monitor packaging quality, labels, date codes, and product appearance
- Perform equipment changeovers as needed
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues
- Ensure correct packaging materials are used for each product
- Prepare production lines for upcoming runs
- Maintain organized workstations and storage areas
- Assist other production departments as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow all SOPs, GMPs, food safety, and quality requirements
- Wear required PPE and comply with all safety policies
- Report food safety, quality, or equipment concerns immediately
- Maintain regular attendance and work overtime when required
