QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates who hold current licensure in the State of Vermont in Middle School English Language Arts (or Elementary/Secondary with an ELA endorsement), or who demonstrate eligibility for such licensure, shall be given preference over non-licensed applicants.
- Strong knowledge of middle school literacy, literature, the writing process, and language mechanics.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners within an inclusive classroom setting.
- Must have excellent classroom management, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must be able to pass all background and fingerprint requirements needed to work with school-age students.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with Vermont/Common Core ELA standards for middle school students.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, maintain accurate grading records, and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborative with grade-level teams, special education staff, and interventionists to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavioral expectations.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required by the MRUUSD.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.
