The Opportunity:
Mill River Union High School/Middle School is looking for an enthusiastic educator to teach four high school social studies classes as part of our dynamic and supportive high school team. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. The ideal candidate brings a passion for social studies, a creative approach to student-centered instruction, and a commitment to engaging young learners in meaningful, relevant learning experiences.

Team Collaboration: Desire to work collaboratively with the middle school team, including interdisciplinary planning.

Proficiency-Based Learning: Familiarity with and commitment to proficiency-based learning and assessment.
Certification (or eligibility for certification) in Secondary Social Studies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach four sections of high school social studies.
Develop engaging, relevant curriculum aligned to standards and high school team goals.
Foster a classroom culture that is inclusive, respectful, and conducive to learning.
Set and maintain clear behavioral and academic expectations.
Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning.
Design instruction that supports diverse learners and promotes critical thinking and civic engagement.
