Wood Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Installation Superintendent to oversee and manage the installation of commercial millwork projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in millwork installation, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong ability to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight:
- Lead and supervise the installation team to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality execution of millwork installations.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on installation requirements, timelines, and scope of work.
- Review project plans and specifications to understand scope, materials, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company safety policies on job sites.
- Team Management:
- Direct and mentor a team of installers and subcontractors, ensuring they have the necessary tools, materials, and support.
- Allocate tasks and resources effectively, balancing team strengths and project needs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve team performance.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor all phases of installation to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure millwork is installed per design specifications, building codes, and client expectations.
- Address any discrepancies or issues immediately, troubleshooting and providing solutions as needed.
- Schedule and Budget Management:
- Develop and manage detailed installation schedules, ensuring milestones are met and projects are completed on time.
- Track project costs and ensure installations are performed within the allocated budget.
- Communicate project status updates, including potential delays or budget overruns, to management and clients.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and other project stakeholders regarding installation progress, issues, and concerns.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction with the final product and installation process.
- Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Oversee the delivery and staging of materials to ensure timely and organized arrivals at job sites.
- Ensure that all required tools and equipment are available and in working order for the installation team.
- Manage the inventory of materials to avoid delays or shortages.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce job site safety standards and ensure all personnel are trained on and adhere to company safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure that all installations are compliant with local, state, and federal building codes.

- Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in millwork installation, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial millwork materials, finishes, and installation techniques.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to use standard job site tools and equipment.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment as needed, including heavy millwork components.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, varying temperatures).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or related certifications preferred.
- OSHA certification and/or relevant safety training preferred.
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
