About The Position
Reporting to the Director of the Lifetime Financial Security (LFS) Program MI Finance, the Associate will be responsible for the following activities:
This position will work in a professional office environment on a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days per week reporting in-person to the Washington, DC office location (Tuesday – Thursday), with the remaining two (2) days working remotely. Please understand, this schedule is subject to change at the Institute’s sole discretion.
This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.

About The Position
Reporting to the Director of the Lifetime Financial Security (LFS) Program MI Finance, the Associate will be responsible for the following activities:
- Preparing for convenings and events by engaging in a variety of event planning activities, including helping secure venues, creating participant lists, conducting outreach to participants, assisting onsite, and working with the Milken Institute Events Team on all event details and as the point of contact when needed, among other things.
- Assisting with discrete research related to financial security with a focus on financial platforms and AI, retirement planning, and debt management, as directed by the LFS Program Lead, among other things.
- Participating in team strategic planning and assisting with the creation of strategic planning documents.
- Assisting with the finalization of reports, white papers, website materials, and comment letters.
- Assisting with data analysis.
- Coordinating on LFS Program updates for the Milken Institute Website.
- Entering relationship information into Salesforce.
- Assisting with travel plans through the Concur system.
- Preparing materials for events and private dialogues.
- Other activities as assigned by the direction of the LFS Program
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preference for a major in business, finance, economics, or public policy.
- General understanding of the US business landscape with an interest in learning about the financial markets.
- A minimum of two years of experience, including relevant internships.
- A growth mindset with the goal of developing a career at an impactful, global think tank.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to exercise mature judgement in working with high-level professionals in business and finance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skills in PowerPoint, Concur, and Spreadsheet Development.
- Strong proof-reading skills.
- Cooperative spirit and ability to jump in to assist with any last-minute details to ensure that events, speaking engagements, research, and media interviews go well.
- Interest in global issues.
