Position Overview
Milken Community School seeks a collaborative, relationship-driven, and analytically minded Information Systems Manager to join the Information Technology Team. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this role is responsible for administering, designing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining IT systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with database administrators across campus to support information systems and integrations, and will bring extensive experience managing multiple databases and implementing data management policies.
Responsibilities
Systems Administration
- Manage IT systems and support other database administrators, including:
- Student Information System (SIS)
- Learning Management System (LMS)
- Enrollment and admissions systems
- Advancement and fundraising systems
- Financial and business office systems
- Configure and maintain system settings, workflows, permissions, and user roles.
- Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new features.
- Partner with the Director of IT to manage database vendor relationships and support contracts.
Data Management and Governance
- Establish and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and integrity across all systems.
- Develop and maintain data governance practices and documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of institutional data.
- Collaborate with departments to improve data quality and business processes.
Reporting and Analytics
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for school leadership.
- Support institutional reporting needs and the development of Schoolytics integrations.
- Create ad hoc reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis.
Systems Integration and Automation
- Manage integrations between school systems and third-party applications.
- Oversee identity management, user provisioning, and data synchronization processes.
- Develop automated workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Support API-based integrations and data exchange between platforms.
- Collaborate with IT staff to ensure reliable and secure system connectivity.
Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain security controls related to information systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable privacy regulations and school policies.
- Manage user access levels with the Director of IT to secure all systems and the data associated with each system, minimizing security breaches.
- Participate in cybersecurity planning and incident response efforts.
- Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
Training and Support
- Provide training and guidance for faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Develop user documentation and knowledge base resources.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex systems-related issues.
- Collaborate with the IT Support Team to resolve application-related problems.
Strategic Planning
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Participate in long-range technology planning.
- Lead or support technology implementation projects.
- Contribute to the school's digital transformation initiatives and data strategy.
- Leads the data committee in coordination with the Director of IT.
General
- Work closely with and support other members of the Technology Department as needed, e.g., help desk assistance, general support, special projects, hardware/network support, etc.
- Configure, distribute, collect, and store devices and accessories.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of IT.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering enterprise information systems.
- Experience with Student Information Systems, databases, and reporting platforms.
- Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
- Experience managing software implementations and vendor relationships.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience in K–12 independent school environments.
- Experience with SIS platforms such as Blackbaud, Veracross, PowerSchool, Finalsite, or similar systems.
- Experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas, Blackbaud, or Google Classroom.
- Experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 administration.
- Knowledge of SQL, APIs, data integrations, and automation tools.
- Experience with business intelligence and dashboard tools.
- Project management experience.
Standard On-Campus Hours
Start: M - F by 7:30 AM
End: M -Th 4:00 PM, F 3:00 PM

Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually.
