Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Career Enhancement

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Career Enhancement supports Alumni Relations and Career Enhancement initiatives for Milken students and alumni including Milken’s Internship Program. This position helps plan and implement an Alumni Relations program that friendraises and fundraises, leveraging connections for internships and other necessary resources to Milken. As a member of the External Relations Team, The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Career Enhancement is fully engaged in discussions regarding the intersection of admissions, communications, development, alumni, and strategic partnerships. The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Career Enhancement reports to the Director of Alumni Relations & Advancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Alumni Relations

• Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations & Advancement to develop goals and priorities for alumni engagement, fundraising, and programming.
• Help manage the Alumni Board including tracking strategic priorities, recruiting committee members, and leveraging alumni to fulfill the larger goals of the External Relations Office.
• Source meaningful and timely information regarding Alumni and ensure that the Marketing & Communication team has this information for use in social media, monthly alumni newsletters, and other relevant publications.
• Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations & Advancement to provide opportunities for alumni and alumni parents to connect and reconnect with one another and with Milken Community School through the hosting of events on and off-campus - including but not limited to annual reunions and smaller meet-ups based on professional interests and/or geographic areas.
  • Engage with host committees, lead social media outreach and recruitment, and aim to produce high level events with the “Milken Way” front of mind.
• Actively engage alumni and alumni parents in meetings to build relationships, share updates about Milken, and engage them with our programming. 
• Manage Alumni Relations budget, track expenses, and continually update projections on expenditures.
• Collaborate regularly with the Admission Office on Alumni Kids Club events, programming, and joint office goals and strategies.
• Oversee Alumni Kids Club annual events and projects which include but are not limited to birthday gifts, holiday gifts, and special programming.
• Events, both directly for Alumni Relations and for the larger External Relations department, are part of the role. The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Career Enhancement should expect roughly 15 evening and Sunday events throughout the year.

Internship & Career Enhancement Program

• Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations & Advancement to manage Milken’s Internship Program. 
• Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations & Advancement. to surpass goals and priorities for Milken’s Internship Program.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff to work directly with seniors enrolled in the internship program.
• Help source internship and job shadowing opportunities for current students and alumni.

• Proficient at gathering and analyzing meaningful data to aid in the development of effective strategies and plans. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s degree.  
• Strong sense of Jewish identity and commitment to Milken Community School’s mission. 
• Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Comfortable using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and learning other platforms to improve workflow and output.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000
