What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Field Service Tech - Indianapolis IN position at Military Technical Recruiting (MTR.vet)?
Utilize professional communication skills and mechanical and electrical knowledge to test, troubleshoot, and repair complex technical problems on Industrial Machining products. Services are provided on-site at customer facilities and remotely via telephone if the situation permits. Duties include:
- Heavy local area travel but with occasional travel throughout North America
- Travel to local customer locations to diagnose technical problems and perform on-site repairs
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair / rebuild electrical and mechanical systems
- Examine machines mechanically and perform repairs by dismantling and rebuilding mechanical system
- Diagnose technical problems and troubleshooting via telephone if possible
- Exhibit extremely effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Utilize schematics, drawings, and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
Requirements
- Military or industry experience from a electrical background with mechanical ability
- 2-5 years of experience as a field service technician is a PLUS
- Any PLC, industrial automation, machine tool, or CNC programming experience is a huge PLUS
- Skilled in electrical measurement (voltmeter, oscilloscope, etc) and mechanical (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc)
- Current valid drivers’ license is required due to the necessary extensive local travel
