Military Service - U.S. Space Force
Colorado, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 9/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/31/2026

Position Summary

As a Computer Systems Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and improve the systems that power Space Force operations around the globe. From building secure networks to integrating advanced technologies, you’ll solve complex engineering challenges that help Guardians stay connected, informed, and mission ready.

If you’re passionate about innovation and want to build technology that supports the future of national defense, you’ll help shape the systems behind every Space Force mission.

Career Duties

  • Design and develop computer systems that support Space Force operations.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies into mission-critical systems.
  • Lead engineering projects from planning through implementation.
  • Improve the performance, reliability, and security of computer systems.
  • Collaborate with military, government, and industry partners.
  • Ensure critical systems remain operational and ready to support global missions.

Benefits

BASE SALARY

Every active-duty Guardian is paid equally based on rank and years of service. From the moment you put on your uniform, you’re eligible for additional compensation based on your job and station.

INSURANCE

Guardians and their families receive top-of-the-line, low-rate insurance plans. Each has comprehensive medical and dental care at military or civilian facilities. Additionally, we provide full pay and allowances for sick days and life insurance.

RETIREMENT

Guardians receive a generous retirement plan within the Blended Retirement System. The benefits are similar to many civilian 401(k) plans with employer-matched contributions. This plan combines two main sources of retirement savings: a monthly retirement income for Guardians who serve a minimum of 20 years and the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), which includes automatic and matching government contributions.

RECREATION

Most Space Force bases are equipped with golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, full-service gyms, and arts-and-crafts facilities. All are either free to use or are available at lower rates than similar facilities off base.

VACATION AND TRAVEL

All Space Force Guardians get 30 days of vacation with pay per year. They can travel on Air Force aircraft to almost any U.S. state and many international destinations. Additionally, for destinations near military facilities, Guardians qualify for reduced-rate hotel lodging.

EDUCATION

Joining the Space Force offers a wide range of educational opportunities, including scholarships for Guardians who wish to pursue ongoing education. Guardians can receive up to 100 percent tuition assistance through the Air Force Tuition Assistance Program, the Montgomery GI Bill, or Post-9/11 GI Bill. Members select which option to take based on what’s best for them.

Qualifications

This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the United States Space Force. The application is for a specific position within the United States Space Force.
