Position Summary

From conducting personal assessments to implementing unique nutrition plans, these food and nutrition experts enable our Airmen to make decisions that keep them healthy, focused and active.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide sound nutrition practices and supportive environments for deployed military operations that optimize human performance
- Perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient duties, including nutrition assessment and patient education and menu planning
- Determine requirements for foodservice facilities, personnel, equipment and operations
- Serve as an adviser to a commander in matters of nutrition and dietetics

Qualifications
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and completion of a didactic program in dietetics approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
- Knowledge of the principles of human nutrition, regular and therapeutic diets, cultural food habits and foodservice management
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in dietetic assignments
- Completion of Officer Training School course
- Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday
