Job Description – DME Liaison
Job Title: DME Liaison
Reports To: Director of Sales
Location/Region: Southern California service territory including Santa Barbara County, San Luis Obispo County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and San Diego County
Travel Requirements: Extensive regional travel. Air travel may be required for appointments in Northern California, Nevada, or other assigned regions.
Pay Range: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
Preferred Certification: CPED (Certified Pedorthist) preferred
Facility Access Requirement: Must be eligible to obtain access to Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs)
Position Summary
The DME Liaison supports timely and efficient delivery of durable medical equipment (DME) while increasing patient visits and service touchpoints across assigned territories. This role is essential to improving turnaround times, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring high-quality patient care through professional, in-person service.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Service & Field Support
- Perform DME deliveries and pick-ups throughout the assigned service area.
- Conduct Face-to-Face CPAP setups, including patient education on use, care, and compliance.
- Complete brace measurements, orthotic fittings, and equipment pickups/drop-offs in accordance with clinical standards.
- Provide professional, patient-centered service during all in-person interactions.
Operational & Coverage Support
- Support organizational goals for faster turnaround times and increased patient visits/touches.
- Accurately document all patient interactions, deliveries, and services in company systems.
- Provide backup coverage for orthotic scheduling when needed, including scheduling and confirming patient appointments to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain compliance with safety, equipment handling, and documentation requirements.
Facility & Partner Relations
- Maintain professional relationships with MTFs, clinics, hospitals, and referral partners.
- Represent the organization positively during all field visits and facility interactions.
- Communicate territory updates, scheduling challenges, and service needs to the California office and Director of Sales.
Travel & Logistics
- Travel daily throughout Southern California counties; occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Participate in air travel for assigned appointments outside the primary region when necessary.
- Comply with company vehicle, fleet safety, and travel policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CPED certification strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in DME, orthotics, respiratory care, or patient-facing healthcare roles preferred.
- Must be eligible for access to Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to manage travel-heavy schedules and adapt to changing routes.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift and transport medical equipment as required.
