Duties
- Safely operate box trucks with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using proper techniques, including forklift operation when necessary
- Deliver goods to various locations along assigned routes, ensuring timely arrivals and pickups
- Inspect vehicles daily for maintenance needs or safety issues before and after trips
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with securing refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker loads, or dump trucks as needed for specialized freight
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for truck driving operations
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver, preferably with freight or logistics companies
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and understanding of tractor-trailer systems
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, roll-off trucks, or dump trucks is a plus
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely using equipment like forklifts when required
- Strong knowledge of route driving and navigation skills to optimize delivery schedules
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and perform vehicle inspections regularly
