SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under the direction of the Building Principal, the School Nurse will provide direct support to students to sustain, improve or adapt to their specific health needs. In doing so, the School Nurse shall contribute to the Milford School Districts goal of robust student achievement, while balancing the immediate well-being needs of the school population.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong collaborative, teaching, coaching and leadership skills to support student programming and work in a school settingThorough organizational skills to balance the ever-evolving demands of the student populationServe as a liaison between the school, the family and the community healthcare providersExemplary problem-solving skills to support student successKnowledge of fundamental pediatric nursing principlesKnowledge of New Hampshire Board of Nursing Rules (NH BON) Nur 404.01 and New Hampshire Department of Education Ed 311Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Completed a Board of Nursing approved registered nursing program at the associate degree level or higher under RSA 326-B andHave 3 years of current experience in pediatric nursing or other related nursing areas.All school nurses hired after August 25, 2019 holding an associates degree in nursing shall be enrolled in a registered nurse to bachelor of science in nursing program, and shall complete such program within 6 years of the date of hire. Plesae note that this is a 1:1 assignment with one student for the 2025-2026 school year.
