Position: English Learner (EL) Tutor Location: Memorial Elementary SchoolSchedule: 2025-2026 School Year 30 hours per weekSalary: $20.00 per hourTo Start: October 2025Qualifications: Undergraduate degree, preferredMassachusetts Department of Education Teacher License- Certification as a teacher in one of the following: ESL, Bilingual Education, Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education, preferred;Demonstrated ability to work with English learners; Bilingual and biliterate in either Spanish and/or Portuguese.Duties & Responsibilities: Teach English Language Development (ELD) skills to small groups of English Learners (ELs) in "push-in" settings or in self-contained Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) classrooms under the supervision of the certified ESL and general education SEI teachers at the school; Assist students with digital literacy skills and supports;Screen and assess ELs with a home language other than English, including bilingual administration of the Early Childhood Screening Inventory (ESI);Provide a positive, structured learning environment, addressing grade-appropriate WIDA standards;Communicate and collaborate with SEI and ESL teachers;Attend professional development opportunities with EL department, when available;Become a WIDA ACCESS for ELLs certified Administrator and administer WIDA ACCESS;Provide native language (Spanish/Portuguese) clarification and/or support to ELs in the SEI classroom, when applicable.Family and parent outreach when applicable, requested by EL Director, EL Coordinator, ESL teacher, SEI teacher(s), and/or building principal.
