Salary: Per Teachers’ Contract
To Start: August 24, 2026 (plus, two additional days for new hires 8/18-8/19)
Position Summary:
Milford Public Schools seeks a Career Coordinator to build and improve career-connected learning experiences that help our students understand the world of work, explore various careers, and have immersive experiences in one or more sectors. The Coordinator will partner with a wide range of stakeholders including employers, workforce development agencies, non-profits, institutions of higher education, administrators, counselors, Curriculum Team Leaders, classroom teachers, students, and guardians. The Coordinator is a member of the Guidance Department and will play a key role in MyCAP implementation. As our current and proposed career and technical education (CTE) programs prioritize fields in science and technology, the Coordinator will work especially closely with educators and external partners in biomedical and environmental science and technology, including clean energy and sustainable construction.
Qualifications:
●Master's degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, Counseling, or a related field
●Massachusetts DESE licensure held (or in progress) in a relevant area (e.g., Supervisor/Director, School Counselor, or CTE-related license)
●Experience developing and coordinating career-connected learning experiences, preferably in science and technology within PLTW and CTE course pathways
●Experience developing Innovation Career Pathways (ICP) and/or Chapter 74 programs
●Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
Responsibilities:
●Provide individualized career pathway planning and counseling for students and guardians, including assistance with job and internship searches, resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
●Manage internships and work-based learning programs, including screening, placement support, employer communication, and progress monitoring.
●Provide professional development to teaching and counseling faculty on career-connected topics.
●Collaborate with CTE and STEM teachers to improve career-connected learning experiences within the context of existing course curricula.
●Serve as building-level lead for the MHS Clean Energy Innovation Career Pathway, growing enrollment, employer engagement, and curriculum coherence, and supporting expansion toward Chapter 74 status for Clean Energy and adjacent STEM pathways.
●Co-lead grant management ICP, CTE, and STEM-related grants.
●Implement MyCAP with Guidance Counselors by designing and delivering workshops, lessons, and events related to post-secondary planning, including annual job fairs and visits to employer-partners.
●Track participation, placement, and outcome data across career-connected learning initiatives
●Cultivate relationships with local and regional employers, workforce development agencies, chambers of commerce, and higher education partners, and represent MHS at regional and state conferences.
