Setting and Location for Pediatric SLP Job
95%: Itinerant/Travel in Oswego County - You will be working with children in their family’s home. (Don’t worry! We include mileage/gas reimbursement!)
5%: Center work at our center located at 10 Burkle Street, Oswego, NY 13126.
About the Itinerant Home Speech Pathology Role
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Itinerant care team. In this role, you will travel to family’s homes to support children with special health care needs in their familiar home environment.
Provide exceptional care and instruction

- Maintain a caring and trusting relationship with the families who trust you with their child’s speech therapy needs.
Support and develop the speech, language, and swallowing needs for toddlers and children, ages 18 months to 5 years.
Teach using behavior modification and positive reinforcement techniques.
Support the toddler or child’s understanding through strong, language-based, on-on-one interaction.
Create a fun and exciting environment for support and encourage the child’s continued success.
Travel

- ALL Itinerant staff will receive a company provided iPad for easy and paperless mileage tracking, note taking, data reporting, and more.
ALL Itinerant staff will receive mileage reimbursement to travel to children’s homes.
Planning and Data Analysis

- Discuss the development of the IEP with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and others.
Observe, evaluate, and prepare reports on progress for IEPs of the children.
Document your work including notes, care plans and ongoing progress with high levels of accuracy and timeliness in our paperless electronic health record system.
Prepares goals and instructional materials according to the goals established by the Individual Education Plan.
About You

- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to share feedback across teams in a collaborative and solution-oriented way.
- A Master's degree or Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders/Speech and Hearing Science
- Licensed or eligibility for a NYS Speech and Language Pathology license
Licensed or eligibility for a NYS Teacher Certification for TSLD or TSHH -
