What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician position at Milestones Behavioral Services?
Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, apply the power of behavior analysis to improve the lives of people with autism spectrum disorder and related neurodevelopmental disorders.
The Essential Functions of this position are:

- Interact with patients to provide direct support and instruction in line with individualized programs;
- Work collaboratively with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst in the implementation of treatment goals and objectives related to adaptive living skills, functional communication, social/behavioral, and other areas of need;
- Utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in an outpatient clinic setting;
- Prepare and maintain client’s materials;
- Manage client’s personal belongings as needed;
- Implement antecedent strategies to support learning readiness skills;
- Follow behavior reduction plans accurately and efficiently;
- Deliver treatment in a 1:1 or small group setting depending on the needs of the client;
- Assist with parent training (e.g., modeling implementation of ABA strategies);
- Collect data and generating session progress notes/graphs;
- Participate in community outings;
- Participate in on-going professional development including complete the training necessary to obtain their Registered Behavior Technician certification;
- Implement all PMT techniques as necessary per certification standards and in line with organizational policy;
- Maintain organized work and leisure spaces for clients and staff;
- Report any concerns to supervisor;
- Maintain professionalism with clients and staff
- Properly wear required PPE at all times, clean and maintain PPE daily and inform supervisor of needs to replace/repair PPE.
- Must be able to participate in Telehealth as required by your program.
- Other duties as required.
The minimum qualifications and requirements:
- Obtain certification as a Registered Behavior Technician;
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Must meet all required state and federal background checks and pre-employment requirements;
· Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently;
· Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and improve performance through management feedback;
- Must obtain Physical Management Training (PMT) certification;
- Must be able to effectively implement PMT techniques as per certification;
- CPR or First Aid certification preferred
- Required to properly wear PPE and attend all training sessions on PPE.
- Required to follow all safety procedures and adhere to all requirements.
