About the Role:

The Shipping & Receiving Associate provides part-time support to Milestone’s Operations Department, helping ensure incoming materials and outgoing client orders are processed accurately and on time. This hands-on role supports day-to-day shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse activities while working closely with teams across the organization to keep orders and materials moving efficiently.

Schedule:

• Part-time position, approximately 10-12 hours per week.
• Afternoon availability is required on Thursday and Friday from 3:00-5:30 PM, due to our shipping volume and schedule.
• We will work with the ideal candidate to establish the remaining days and hours based on their availability and our business needs. Once established, the position will follow a consistent weekly schedule.

Milestone will provide appropriate training for the responsibilities of this position. Job duties and equipment use will be assigned in accordance with applicable federal and Connecticut requirements for employees under 18.

Responsibilities:

Shipping & Receiving

• Process all inbound receiving and outbound consumable, accessory, and service orders.
• Prepare and package instrument orders for shipment.
• Complete documentation for LTL shipments, including instrument and non-billable shipments.
• Maintain established SLAs for small-package and LTL shipments (same-day / next-morning).
• Support Service transfer orders for field service technicians.
• Prepare hazardous materials shipments with proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
• Prepare international shipments with required documentation and shipping disposition.

Inventory Support

• Maintain inventory of packaging and shipping materials.
• Support production, kitting, and assembly orders.
• Identify and escalate inventory discrepancies.

Warehouse Operations

• Ensure client shipments are processed accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Requirements:

• Strong reliability and ability to maintain a consistent weekly work schedule.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to work independently after appropriate training.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with employees across departments.
• Comfortable learning basic inventory and shipping software; prior experience is not required.
• Any experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform warehouse-related tasks, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling materials throughout the shift.
