What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAINTENANCE WORKER V position at MILESTONE INC?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, performs a variety of skilled work at journeyman level in the mechanical and building trades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reliable, prompt attendance.
- Performs a variety of tasks of a skilled nature requiring the manual use of tools, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Maintains and performs operating repairs to electrical equipment, appliances, boilers and furnaces.
- Performs carpentry, masonry and plumbing tasks at journeyman level.
- Will be on weekend/afterhours coverage as needed and/or as assigned.
- Perform weekly generator tests under “Load” and record in logbook.
- In compliance with Milestone, Inc.’s philosophy and policies regarding Human Rights, immediately intervenes on behalf of the individual(s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Three years skilled work performed at the journeyman level in mechanical trades.
- Able to work independently after receiving oral/written directions.
- Must have valid driver’s license/good driving record when specified.
- No weight restrictions.
