Under the supervision of the Administrators supervises and sets up vocational jobs.  Also develops and implements habilitative day training programs for assigned individuals.  Supervise the Group Supervisors, Team Leaders, DSP’s in implementation of vocational services and training programs.

 

 DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a liaison between Milestone Industries and the residential program for assigned individuals.
  • Communicates needs, progress, concerns of assigned individuals to appropriate individuals and/or departments.
  • Serves as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team at staffing and other meetings that affect the development and progress of assigned individuals, preparing reports as needed.  Develops and implements an individual habilitation program for assigned individuals as a result of these reviews.
  • Develops, implements and/or monitors, in consultation with the residential QIDP, behavioral management programs for assigned individuals.
  • Manages the set up of vocational jobs and demonstrates the setup of these jobs to Group Supervisors and Team Leaders.
  • Conducts quality checks of all jobs that are running and runs time studies on jobs.
  • Completes computer data entry.
  • Checks all vocational equipment to ensure its functioning correctly.  This equipment includes such things as scales, blister machines, heat sealers, etc.
  • Directs the group supervisors to needed vocational assignments during the AM & PM hours when the groups are not present.
  • Checks in parts for jobs ensuring all parts are in for the completion of the job.
  • Reviews and monitors programmatic documentation of individuals progress on a weekly and monthly basis. Completes annual and vocational assessments in conjunction with the Group Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Supervises Group Supervisors, Team Leaders, and DSP’s in vocational training sessions.  This includes documentation procedures, daily reports, etc.
  • Complete evacuation of Group Supervisors, Team Leaders, and DSP’s on an annual basis, or more frequently if job performance warrants.
  •  Functions as a trainer for all direct care staff in orientation to specific job responsibilities in implementation of new programs, procedures, and vocational activities.
  • Functions as an on-duty facility supervisor in the absence of the Administrators.
  •  Propose policies, procedures, and program suggestions to the Administrators.
  • Supervises and participates in safety drills as scheduled.
  • Coordinates with Team leaders, DSP’s and Group Supervisors community integration  opportunities on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • In compliance with Milestone, Inc.’s philosophy and procedures regarding Human Rights, intervenes immediately on behalf of the individual (s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Notifies the proper supervisor of emergency or unusual situations that may arise.

 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Vocational Education, or related field.
  • Must be able to intervene in behavioral or health related crisis.
  • One Year supervisory experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Authorized Milestone Driver.
