Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Preschool Support Staff member to join our early childhood education team. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners, supporting classroom activities, and assisting lead teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childhood development, experience working with children, and a strong understanding of early education principles, including curriculum development, behavior management, and classroom management. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and overall childhood development.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for all children.
- Engage with children through age-appropriate activities that foster social-emotional skills, cognitive development, and physical coordination.
- Help with lesson planning and adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being.
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.
- Assist with assessments and documentation related to childhood development milestones and standardized testing when applicable.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and Montessori or other specialized teaching methods.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, or toddler care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies and lesson planning tailored to early childhood learners.
- Demonstrated communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
- Experience working within private school environments or Montessori settings is a plus.
- Background in childhood development theories and practices related to preschool-age children is highly desirable. Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
