Applicants for the Lead Baker Position in our Bakery Department will be responsible for baking all of our delicious treats that we offer. Items will range from breads, pies, cookies, and muffins to pastries and much more! The Lead Baker is crucial to the success of our bakery in making sure that everything is baked to perfection, recipes are followed and new items are created to keep our customers coming back for more. We have a standard list of recipes that we expect to be followed but there is room for creativity and new items when the daily tasks are completed. This position is a full time job (5 days per week) with a salary of $18-22/hour and does require weekend and holiday hours. (We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Easter have shortened hours on the summer holidays). Applicants must be ok with early hours and must complete daily tasks before they are permitted to leave. Previous Baking experience is a must with this position. We are looking for someone who has the necessary skills to produce a variety of items from scratch. Our current, experienced staff members are willing and able to train individuals who show the desire to learn on all of our current staple items so that we can maintain consistency every day of the week. Applicants for this position will spend time shadowing our current staff so they can adjust to and learn the expectations we have at the store. As applicants show the ability to work on their own they will be given more freedom until they are able complete all tasks by themselves. Our bakery leaders are always there to assist with any questions the applicant may have as they learn the different aspects of the job.
