Job Title: Special Needs Mentor – Job Coach / Habilitation Aide (DDD)
Job Type: Part Time
Pay: $17/hour

As a Special Needs Mentor, you'll help the people we serve build real-life skills, make friends, try new things, and find their place in the community, sometimes even their first job. You work here, and you play here. Your "office" might be a bowling alley, a grocery store, a park, or a job site, and your work changes lives.
No degree required. If you have a big heart and a willingness to learn, we'll train you.
Work Here, Play Here: What You'll Do
- Mentor with purpose. Support members in reaching their personal goals, from social and daily living skills to job readiness, using their Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP) and/or Behavior Treatment Plan (BTP) as your guide.
- Get out and explore. Safely drive members to community outings, activities, and job sites. Help them connect with peers, family, and local resources.
- Lead with strengths. Use a positive, culturally respectful approach that focuses on what each member can do.
- Keep everyone safe. Provide constant supervision and help with personal care when needed, such as toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
- Bring the fun. Help plan activity calendars and come up with new programming ideas.
- Keep the magic organized. Complete daily notes, Electronic Visit Verification (EVV), and transportation logs accurately and on time.
- Grow with the herd. Meet monthly with your Program Manager, join staff meetings, and keep up with ongoing training.
Depending on your assignment, you may also:
- Job Coach: Teach members job skills on the job, track employer checklists, keep job-site supplies stocked, and help with monthly progress reports.
- Habilitation Aide: Teach step-by-step life skills in home and community settings, with training tailored to each member's goals.

Must-haves:
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with no DUI or suspension history
- Able to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and stay professional
- A real commitment to confidentiality and ethical care
Bonus sparkle:
- Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities
- Experience as a job coach, habilitation provider, or in vocational support
- Familiarity with Arizona DDD services and documentation
The Active Stuff
This is an on-the-go job. You'll need to be able to:
- Bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift often, up to 50 lbs
- Drive long distances
- Stay alert and engaged for your whole shift
- Handle the occasional noise of busy community and clinic settings
