Position Summary

Mile7 is seeking a dependable full-time Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver. We are also accepting applications from qualified on-call/relief drivers who can provide coverage during driver absences and periods of increased demand.

Drivers provide safe, punctual and respectful transportation for passengers travelling to healthcare appointments and other approved destinations. The position is based in Westford, Massachusetts, with trips operating within Massachusetts.

Mile7 provides the vehicles used for assigned trips. Applicants are not required to provide a personal vehicle.

This is a passenger-transportation position. Drivers do not provide medical treatment or emergency transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport passengers safely, punctually and courteously.

• Review assigned trip information and follow approved pickup and destination instructions.

• Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate.

• Safely assist passengers using wheelchairs and other mobility aids in appropriately equipped vehicles.

• Treat passengers, caregivers, facility personnel and members of the public with patience, dignity and respect.

• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks.

• Keep the assigned vehicle clean, presentable and ready for service.

• Maintain accurate trip and service records.

• Promptly report delays, incidents, passenger concerns or vehicle problems.

• Communicate professionally with Mile7 management, passengers, caregivers and facilities.

• Protect passenger information and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

• Follow applicable traffic laws, Mile7 policies and all relevant insurer, transportation-partner and contract requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving history.

• Safe, defensive and responsible driving habits.

• Dependability, punctuality and good time-management skills.

• Professional communication and customer-service skills.

• Patience and sensitivity when assisting seniors and passengers with mobility or accessibility needs.

• Ability to use a mobile phone, text messaging and GPS navigation for work-related communication.

• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

• Willingness to complete all required employment screening and onboarding requirements.

Screening and Training Requirements

All selected drivers must successfully complete or satisfy Mile7’s applicable screening and training requirements, including:

• Drug screening conducted in accordance with applicable law.

• Criminal background screening.

• Motor vehicle record and driving-history review.

• CPR, First Aid and applicable AED training or certification.

• Child and infant passenger-securement training.

• Wheelchair securement and passenger-assistance training.

• Workplace-conduct and anti-harassment training.

• Any additional training or screening required by Mile7, its insurer, transportation partners or applicable contracts.

Applicants who already hold current, recognized CPR and First Aid certification are encouraged to identify it when applying. Applicants who do not yet hold the required certification may be permitted to complete it during Mile7’s onboarding process.

Previous Experience

Previous NEMT, passenger transportation, senior transportation or other professional driving experience is preferred but not required.

Schedule

Mile7 is recruiting for:

• A full-time NEMT driver position.

• On-call/relief driver opportunities for coverage during absences and periods of increased demand.

Assignments may include early-morning pickups beginning as early as 5:00 a.m. Weekday availability is important, and some weekend availability may be requested depending on confirmed transportation needs.
