POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide direct mental health assessments and treatment to individuals who struggle with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The therapist will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team who participates in regular team and treatment planning meetings. This behavioral health professional will provide direct services to the clients with mental health, substance misuse, and will engage with the client’s natural support systems, probation officers, and parole officers to support a successful re-entry into the community.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Tuesday through Friday, 10 hours shifts, with flexible start and end times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Treat all patients with dignity, respect and equality.
- Provide mental health evaluations/problem identification, crisis interventions; assess the need for on-going treatment or referral to other agencies.
- Conduct individual, group and family counseling sessions.
- Provide case management services to participants as needed or assigned.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Medicaid, private insurance and the Behavioral Health Administrative Service organizations (BHASO)’s standards in all areas including, but not limited to: admission summaries, assessments, daily charting, weekly clinical staffing notes, and discharge summaries within the agency electronic health record system (EHR). Adhering to mandatory deadlines.
- Maintain weekly relationships of the patients assigned to you in the active caseload for billable services.
- Act as liaison and consult with families and community agencies to maintain coordination of the client’s treatment process.
- Partner with stakeholders and attend meetings as needed related to progress and implementation of grants/contracts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately
- Familiarity with DSM V and diagnostic techniques
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Good rapport with the client population
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work experience required.
- Experience working with persons from the population of focus (SPMI, Co-Occurring Substance Misuse)
- LPC/LCSW license is preferred
- CAS/CAT/LAC license is preferred
- Case management experience and experience creating and maintaining treatment and recovery plans are preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- MULTILINGUAL IS A PLUS! (Spanish speaking)
- Ability to work flexible and on-call hours which may be required
- Valid Driver’s License and car insurance by date of hire
- Ability to undergo background check due to caring for children, adolescents and families.
- Some travel around the Denver Metro Area
- Some evening and weekend work for events
- This is a full-time in office position (40 hours a week).
