What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatch Clerk position at Mile Hi Foods?
SCHEDULE:
- Wednesday-Saturday
- Wednesday 2400-0600 (12am-6am)
- Thursday-Saturday 1800-0600 (6pm-6am)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(other duties may be assigned)
- Perform driver check in and check out process, including but not limited to maintaining and managing all delivery related keys, paperwork, and hardware (Tablets and Phones)
- Assume responsibility for personnel and route substitutions.
- Maintain, support, and manage compliance for all related delivery software. (GeoTab HOS, RoadNet, MobileConductor)
- Receive real time communication from drivers and proactively address issues with a plan of action to ensure the highest quality of service to the customer. (Communicate to drivers prior to Dispatch that all delivery issues be called into Dispatch.)
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate daily issues that impact the team and overall business objectives.
- Work closely with other groups within the organization to communicate issues.
- Plan, review and audit compliance, delivery scheduling and ePOD applications to ensure all components are functioning at appropriate levels.
- Prepare administrative documents and reports including but not limited to fuel tracking, mileage, and service times.
- Accountable for properly following all Mile Hi Companies standards, processes, and methodologies as applicable.
- Other responsibilities and accountabilities may be assigned based on business and organizational needs.

- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and state specific safety regulations

- Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain a professional relationship in phone, email, and written correspondence with individuals within and outside of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures with the use of calculator and spreadsheet; calculation by touch is preferred.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to anticipate challenges such as problems in achieving deadlines early enough to report to management with resolution to issues.

- Temperature controlled office and able to sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer.
- Willing to be flexible on work hours and shifts. We are a 24-hour, 7 day per week operation including holidays.
- The office requires entry by stairways of from three to seventeen steps.
- Walk from Division to Division, which includes stairs and crossing street which may have weather conditions present.
