Job Summary
PawPurs Place at Mile Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable and compassionate Daycare/Kennel/Boarding Assistant to join our morning team. In this role, you will provide hands-on care to dogs in a safe, clean, and structured environment, ensuring every pet receives proper attention, exercise, and enrichment during their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage dog playgroups to ensure safe, positive interactions
- Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary
- Provide daily care including feeding, watering, and cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and facility spaces
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and animal care protocols
- Engage dogs in structured play and enrichment activities
- Communicate effectively with team members and pet owners
- Report health or behavioral concerns promptly
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment
Qualifications
- Genuine love for animals, especially dogs
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of animal behavior
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Previous animal care experience preferred, but not required
- Passion for animal welfare
Schedule & Availability
- Monday–Friday between 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Flexible shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours
- Rotating holidays required
- Occasional weekends and evening/walking shifts
