General Information:

Job title: Recreation Aide

Location: Crest View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - New Lisbon, WI

Schedule: Part-time 1, 52.5 hours per pay period; 12:30pm to 8:30pm

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend rotation

Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday rotation

Position Summary:

The Recreation Aide position reports to the Recreation Service Coordinator and makes sure residents are engaging in activities that met their needs, be it physically, mentally, socially, or spiritually. This is an important role that requires compassion, attention to detail, and a curiosity about the industry.

Position Responsibilities:

• Interact with residents on a daily basis to give residents a better quality of life.
• Make sure residents are engaging in activities that met their needs.
• Provide one-on-one care to residents.
• Set up and implement activities on daily and monthly activity calendar.
• Lead activities and follow care plans to make sure residents are attending the activities that are important to them; show/ give instructions for various activities.
• Provide 1:1 sensory stimulation to dementia patients.
• Record and chart residents' activities for documentation.
• Plan food orders to match activities.
• Manage/redirect residents experiencing behavioral issues.
• Maintain and clean work areas and equipment.
• Plan/prepare for upcoming events, visitations, and/or organized group meetings.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• 1 years of related work experience preferred.
• Experience working in a medical facility preferred. Experience with dementia a plus.
• Exceptional communication skills required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
