Position Summary
The Driver position driver is responsible for all aspects of deliveries, including home medical equipment and supplies, medication, and any other deliveries deemed necessary by the Home Medical Equipment and Supplies Manager.
Position Responsibilities
- Know and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for general maintenance of company vehicle such as but not limited to, changing bulbs, checking and adding oil and other necessary fluids according to the owner's manual, maintaining proper air pressure in tires, keeping the vehicle fueled and "ready to go", monitoring vehicle for necessary preventative maintenance, delivering vehicle to service garage for necessary repairs, and keeping vehicle clean.
- Notify manager of any required maintenance immediately.
- Has patient/customer contact in the patient home when necessary.
- Responsible for all pharmacy deliveries, including medical equipment and supplies, medication, delivery of totes and other items to all outreach locations, and all other deliveries deemed necessary by the Home Medical Equipment and Supplies Manager.
- Responsible to pick up and return all medical equipment and supplies to the pharmacy as needed.
- Required to learn and provide education to patients, customers, and family members for all medical equipment delivered.
- Must be able to read and understand necessary paperwork and explain it to patients, customers, and family as necessary.
- Responsible to deliver daily mail to post office.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license.
- 1 years of related work experience preferred.
- Must be MBMC insurable.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
- Must maintain excellent driving record.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to read a map and use GPS.
- Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to maintain clear documentation for insurance coverage.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
