Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Compliance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team in a state-of-the-art testing lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all ammunition containers, fiber mortar containers, and related products meet military specifications (Mil-Spec) and other relevant standards. This role will require a strong technical background, particularly in testing and measuring with specialized equipment, as well as a thorough understanding of compliance and quality assurance processes.
General Responsibilities
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
· Ensure all products, including ammunition containers and fiber mortar containers, comply with military specifications and industry standards.
· Assist in the development and implementation of compliance procedures to meet regulatory and quality standards.
· Maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant military specifications, safety protocols, and industry standards.
· Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure the lab is up to date on changes in compliance requirements.
Quality Assurance Testing:
· Perform technical testing, qualification, and verification of ammunition containers and fiber mortar containers.
· Use advanced measurement tools and equipment (such as calipers, micrometers, digital measuring instruments, etc.) to conduct physical tests.
· Conduct material testing, structural integrity tests, and other necessary evaluations to ensure compliance with established standards.
· Document and analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and traceability in the compliance documentation.
Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:
· Operate, calibrate, and maintain testing equipment and machinery used in the qualification of ammunition and fiber mortar containers.
· Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly and in compliance with the required specifications.
· Perform minor repairs or coordinate with technical staff for major repairs of testing equipment as necessary.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain accurate records of all testing activities, including test results, calibration certifications, and compliance checks.
· Prepare detailed compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of testing outcomes.
· Ensure proper storage and archiving of all test-related documentation to maintain traceability and facilitate audits.
Continuous Improvement:
· Identify areas for process improvement within the quality assurance and compliance testing protocols.
· Support the development of new testing procedures to address emerging technologies and regulations.
· Participate in training programs and stay informed on new developments in military specifications and testing technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field; or equivalent technical training and experience.
· Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a quality assurance testing or compliance role, preferably within the military, defense, or manufacturing industries.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools and testing equipment; familiarity with material testing techniques; strong understanding of quality assurance processes and compliance standards (including Mil-Spec). Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet.
· ISO 9001:2015: Certified ISO Auditor, ability to create ISO Quality Manuals, train internal auditors, root cause analysis, develop internal audit system for ISO and training for root cause analysis, maintain a corrective action database.
· Supervisory Experience: 3-5 years supervisory experience, manufacturing experience preferred.
· Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect discrepancies in testing and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with military standards.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues during testing or qualification processes.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting test results and collaborating with team members.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a lab environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials or testing conditions.
· Preferred Skills: Certification in quality assurance or compliance testing. Experience working in a defense or military-related industry. Familiarity with ISO standards and other industry certifications.
