What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse & Logistics Lead / Delivery Driver position at Mikey V's Foods?
About the role
Mikey V's Foods is looking for a dependable, hands-on Warehouse & Logistics Lead to take day-to-day ownership of our warehouse and keep materials, finished products, shipments, and deliveries moving accurately and safely. This role is a strong fit for someone who likes organized spaces, takes initiative, leads by example, and is comfortable switching between inventory work, freight handling, production support, and driving deliveries.
This is a working-lead position, not a desk-only supervisor role.
What you'll own
- Warehouse & inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready warehouse, with clear labels and defined storage locations.
- Control the location, count, lot, and status of ingredients, glass, caps, labels, packaging, customer-supplied materials, and finished goods.
- Complete cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and keep inventory movements accurate and current.
- Use FIFO/FEFO practices and clearly separate released, on-hold, damaged, rejected, and customer-specific inventory.
Shipping & receiving
- Receive and unload LTL freight and parcel shipments; verify items, quantities, lots, condition, and supporting paperwork.
- Match receipts to purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading; document and escalate shortages, damage, or other discrepancies.
- Prepare outbound orders by palletizing, wrapping, labeling, staging, and checking paperwork; coordinate with carriers and internal teams so pickups are ready and on time.
Production support
- Stage the correct ingredients, glass, and packaging for production based on the schedule and work instructions.
- Move finished goods into assigned locations, record quantities and lots, return unused materials to inventory, and report shortages before they interrupt production.
- Assist on the production line as needed
Deliveries
- Make local and Central Texas deliveries, including occasional same-day routes to locations approximately 2-3 hours from Jarrell.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload company materials or finished products using a company vehicle.
- Complete proof of delivery and basic pre-trip checks, communicate delays or issues, and represent Mikey V's Foods professionally.
- Leadership, food safety & housekeeping
- Lead by example and help direct or train warehouse associates and other team members as assigned.
- Follow and reinforce GMPs, SOPs, lot traceability, material-status controls, and food-safety requirements.
- Protect inventory from contamination or damage, identify safety or workflow issues early, and communicate practical solutions to operations leadership.
What we're looking for
Required
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to meet the company's driving and insurance requirements.
- Reliable, organized, and self-directed, with the judgment to prioritize work and communicate clearly with internal and external partners.
- Comfort with basic computer use, inventory data entry, paperwork, and warehouse math.
Preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, or logistics.
- Lead or supervisory experience in a hands-on warehouse environment.
- Experience with LTL freight, bills of lading, packing slips, pallets, forklifts, and inventory systems.
- Food manufacturing or another regulated environment, plus current forklift certification or the ability to obtain it.
Physical & scheduling requirements
Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, loading, and equipment-operation tasks.
Work in warehouse and loading areas that may include heat, cold, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions, and adjust to occasional early starts, overtime, and regional routes.
