Class A CDL Driver

**MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH HEAVY HAUL**

As a driver for Mike's Westside Rental, your primary responsibilities will include the safe and prompt transportation, delivery, and collection of various equipment to local/regional job sites. You will regularly engage with our customers, acting as a representative of the company and delivering outstanding customer service. Furthermore, as a local driver, you will return home each night.

The job:

• Transport, deliver, and retrieve various types of construction and heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
• Operate both commercial and non-commercial vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Foster a culture of professionalism and exemplary customer service.
• Assist customers by providing training and answering general inquiries about the safe operation of vehicles, tools, or machinery.
• Conduct vehicle inspections prior to and following pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure that all delivery documentation is accurately maintained throughout the workday and readily available for inspection by management or state traffic safety officials upon request.
• Utilize driving expertise and commercial driving skills to navigate various speeds in challenging locations, heavy traffic, adverse weather conditions, mountainous areas, or confined loading dock spaces.
• Secure construction and other equipment using chaining, strapping, and blocking methods in strict compliance with established Department of Transportation (DOT) policies.
• Maintain clear communication with the branch manager and/or central dispatch regarding delivery schedules.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at customer job sites, facilities, and all MWR branches.
• Report any damage to MWR property discovered during the equipment pickup process to the branch manager or central dispatcher.
• Notify the branch manager or dispatch of any accidents that occur.
• Quickly report any delays caused by breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or other issues affecting the timely pickup or delivery of equipment.
• Remain adaptable in your daily activities to accommodate management's responses to customer needs.
• Ensure that all paperwork and logs are accurately maintained on a daily basis.

Requirements:

• Completion of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) accompanied by a satisfactory (clean) driving history.
• Flatbed (dovetail) and Rollback equipment hauling experience, preferably in a variety of conditions, including urban, suburban and rural settings.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT Drug Screen.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial driving regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Exceptional skills in customer service, collaboration, and both verbal and written communication.
• Capability to regularly lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Fundamental understanding of construction machinery and safe driving practices.
• A strong commitment to safety protocols.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Must meet FMCSA physical qualification requirements and maintain a valid medical examiner’s certificate at all times
• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles
• Ability to climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers multiple times per day
• Ability to secure loads, including lifting, pulling, and tightening chains, straps, and binders
• Occasional lifting of equipment, ramps, or materials up to 50 lbs
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions during deliveries and pickups
• Exposure to traffic hazards, noise, vibration, and varying road conditions
